Steve Pritchett
Having spent nearly a decade keeping the nation safe in his role as a Royal Marine, Steve made the transition into civilian life and retrained as an IT engineer. Seven years on and, although he knew the working of a computer network inside out, he felt he could do a much better job when he was mis-sold the wrong mortgage product so he decided to change career. After gaining a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice, awarded by The London Institute of Banking & Finance he made his first step into financial services. Spending three years as a consultant for a national estate agent working in a busy city centre branch, he gained a good understanding of the industry, where he was quickly promoted to senior executive consultant. Steve was then approached by a local firm of independent mortgage brokers, where he spent the next 11 years gaining excellent experience and a loyal client base. As Steve continued to increase his knowledge of an ever-changing industry he realised that he’d always wanted to work for himself so, with his friend and colleague James Akers, they set up Akers Pritchett Mortgage and Protection Advisors in 2020.
Steve loves spending time with his wife Rebecca and his teenage son. He enjoys socialising, hiking and keeping fit.
