About Us

James Akers

There’s not much James hasn’t been involved with in the financial world. Right from the off, he made sure that he got to know the ins and outs of this complex industry, even gaining a placement during his university days, working for an offshore life insurance company, dealing with investment brokers across the world. James also found the time to work part-time as a customer services representative for a financial services company. As a fresh-faced graduate, he returned to his roots in Nottingham and over the years scaled the career ladder at a national estate agency, gaining a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice awarded by The London Institute of Banking & Finance. After becoming a fully-fledged mortgage and protection advisor, James moved to a firm of local mortgage brokers in Bingham where he spent 8 years gaining an enviable reputation along his journey. In 2020 he then founded Akers Pritchett Mortgage and Protection Advisors with his friend and colleague Steve Pritchett – now boasting a team of local mortgage advisors ready and willing to help you.

James loves helping people, whether it’s getting them onto the property ladder, moving into a new dream home or achieving financial security. He’s a big fan of operating a friendly, relaxed working environment while keeping totally focused on his clients’ needs and ambitions.

When not in the office, James and his wife Jess have two children at home to keep them busy! When time permits, James is a big sports fan, especially motorsport.

Steve Pritchett

Having spent nearly a decade keeping the nation safe in his role as a Royal Marine, Steve made the transition into civilian life and retrained as an IT engineer. Seven years on and, although he knew the workings of a computer network inside out, he felt he could do a much better job when he was mis-sold the wrong mortgage product so he decided to change career. After gaining a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice, awarded by The London Institute of Banking & Finance he made his first step into financial services.

Spending three years as a consultant for a national estate agent working in a busy city centre branch, he gained a good understanding of the industry, where he was quickly promoted to senior executive consultant. Steve was then approached by a local firm of local mortgage brokers, where he spent the next 11 years gaining excellent experience and a loyal client base. As Steve continued to increase his knowledge of an ever-changing industry he realised that he’d always wanted to work for himself so, with his friend and colleague James Akers, they set up Akers Pritchett Mortgage and Protection Advisors in 2020, offering expert mortgage advice.

Steve loves spending time with his wife Rebecca and his teenage son. He enjoys socialising, hiking and keeping fit.

Nicky Stahlberger

Nicky has lived and worked in the area all her life, so she understands how local people tick and what’s important to them. Having been part of the conveyancing team at a local firm of solicitors for a number of years, she decided to take the plunge and move into the mortgage industry in 2018. It was at this point that Nicky, who is an extremely organised person, realised she’d found her true vocation in life – a perfect combination of dealing with people and making lists!

Nicky, Vicki, Steve, James and Sarah had all worked together before, so there was an instant team spirit and a willingness to work together right from day one.

Nicky is an active person who enjoys socialising with friends and spending time with her husband and watching her son take part in his favourite sports.

Fraser Gibbon

Fraser joined Akers Pritchett, offering specialist mortgage advice in the UK, having previously worked as a mortgage and protection broker in an estate agent where he has gained invaluable experience. Before entering the industry, Fraser accomplished a first-class degree in law and enjoyed a fulfilling career in the British Army, before leaving to spend more time with his wife and children.

Fraser grew up in the Vale of Belvoir, and now lives in Bingham, where he spends downtime with his family and occasionally finding time for sport.

Chloe Flood

After finishing her law degree, Chloe found she really enjoyed roles where she could help people through the process of buying their new home. Since joining Akers Pritchett and working alongside the team of local mortgage advisors, she’s continued to do just that, while building her knowledge of both mortgages and protection.

Chloe started out at Akers Pritchett as part of the admin team, where she gained a solid understanding of the process before deciding to train as a fully qualified advisor so she could support clients more directly.

At home, Chloe lives with her partner and their miniature dachshund, Reggie. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking, and going out for walks.

Vicki Reed

Born and raised in Scarborough, Vicki swapped the sea air and sound of the waves for a new life in her adopted home of Nottingham. She has a good understanding of the legal side of business, having worked for a local firm of solicitors for six years. Vicki then forged a new career in the financial world in 2018 when she joined a local mortgage brokers practice, where she learned many of her skills that she still uses on a daily basis. Vicki enjoys working for Akers Pritchett, offering professional mortgage advice solutions, due to it being a small team where all the staff get on well. She would describe the friendly team as being ‘flexible, understanding and great at their job’.

In her spare time, Vicki enjoys time with her husband and two children, which usually includes watching her daughter compete in gymnastics and her son play football. If time allows, she spends as much time in the gym as possible.

Sarah Blount

Sarah joined Akers Pritchett in 2022 and brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience administrating mortgage and protection applications. Originally from Nottingham, Sarah started her financial services career in 2002 in the banking sector before moving across to mortgage administration in 2011 and she has never looked back! Offering elite mortgage advice services, Sarah really enjoys helping people obtain their mortgage needs and has worked closely with lenders, estate agents, and solicitors for many years to ensure a smooth experience for clients.

Living In Bingham, Sarah enjoys running, yoga and evenings with her family and friends.

Kim Plater

Kim joined the team here at Akers Pritchett, offering the best mortgage advice services, bringing with her years of knowledge of the property industry after starting in 2008 with a national chain estate agency as a sales negotiator. Her time there enabled her to progress to valuing properties from West Bridgford, down the A52 corridor to Bingham and the surrounding villages. She gained a deep understanding of sales progression as a sales manager, dealing with surveyors, solicitors, estate agents and mortgage advisors. These are all skills that have proved invaluable at Akers Pritchett.

Living locally in West Bridgford with her husband and son, Kim is often seen on the sidelines of her son’s West Bridgford Colts games or eating in the restaurants the area has to offer.

Jenny Robinson

Originally from Wolverhampton, Jenny started her financial services career in a Building Society and enjoyed assisting customers with investment and mortgage advice. Following a career break after having a family, she then returned to working as a Mortgage Processor, for the Portman Building Society, before moving to Nottingham in 2011. Since then, she has worked as an Administrator managing a small office and has now decided to return to helping people with their mortgage needs.

Living locally in Radcliffe-on-Trent, with her husband and dog Molly. Her favourite pastime is shopping, and she enjoys eating out, long walks and reading.

Eleanor James

Eleanor joined the Akers Pritchett team in 2025. She has a great understanding of the home buying process, having worked in both conveyancing and estate agency, before starting her financial services journey in 2022 and gaining the CeMAP qualification in 2024.

With experience of being an adviser, Eleanor really enjoys helping buyers and being a supporting guide throughout the journey for clients as well as the team she works with.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, walks with her partner and ticking off city breaks when she can.
